When your brother in law is a brilliant winemaker, but lives almost 10,000miles away

It’s not easy or often I have the immense pleasure of enjoying Rich’s wine. Our family gathering a couple of weeks ago provided a rare opportunity to try his Viognier. It was superb and the moment was too good not to snap this pic.
He also makes a lovely red, that I’ve had several years ago. Having spent his formative years in Burgundy, ten from memory, he moved almost 20years ago to the cape in South Africa to work in and around the wine world near Stellenbosch.
As a small Independent winemaker in a highly competitive market, it’s a tough business from a strictly financial viewpoint, but it provides him with an enormous amount of pleasure and pride. I only wish it was easier to get hold of his wine!
Cheers,
Tim

I do love South African wine, they make real good stuff! Better to ship in a few cases then, before The Donald takes his trade war to Africa ;-) Enjoy! Daniel
It was delicious white!

I've had some Cabs while over there visiting, that I found superb too. Tremendous value ;-)
Not tried that one Capt., I imagine anything Graff owns will be very good!

I've had Vergelegen reserve cabs on a couple of occasions and brought some home to the US over 10 years ago, which was consumed after about 5yrs of lying in state. It was around 10 yrs old at the time of drinking, and excellent from memory. Cheers, Tim
Thanks for that info Tim...
