Subtle differences between these two

Still hoping to see the Gulf again soon but I do like these. One , I believe to closer the the original with the crown on the wrong side and a live Matt blue dial and black leather strap and the other a “metallic” blue on Alligator.
I’m leaning to the Matt blue on back leather but who knows. What I will say I the more I try them on the more I get used a square watch.

Watch box he had three to show me. These two and the grey. I immediately lifted the Matt dial with the crown on the left hand side which I suppose tells me it spoke to me first !!

Your AD had a gray one? My gray one is a ltd ed from around 2010 but I also saw one at an AD about a year ago. Was it caliber 11 like the (supposed) ltd ed? On the blues

you've confirmed what I expected with the different shades of blue and finish. I also prefer the hour markeers at 11-1-5 and 7 on the caliber 11. And the red hands really pop on the gray dial (at least on mine). Cheers!

I have the watch at home to see / try etc but obviously I haven’t committed to it just just yet so I am being extremely careful with it etc I lifted it this morning and it had stopped - not a surprise as it’s not being worn but I went to give it a few tur...
