Heuer Carrera "Dato 45" ref. 3147 N "first execution" (and a "group picture" as a little "Carrera extra")

Now, this here is the stuff that makes vintage watch collectors' heartbeat increase ..... 


... the first execution Dato-45 whereby the date was still placed quirkily enough behind the (most of the time) static stop watch needle. Jacky Heuer obviously got it at some time that the date window might be better placed at the 9 o'clock position (which then became the "second execution"). 

These watches were powered by a Landeron 189. The first execution models were produced in 1966 and 1967. 

I am somehow fond of the old Carreras. Classy, clean, plain. And therefore I am hoarding some of those ..... (pic 2 - all of them "double-signature" except the Dato).

Which is undoubtedly paired with a huge vintage knowledge. I guess you just wanted to dot the i's and cross the t's after the current re-edition by that commercial website😎

With all of the re-editions I suppose imitation is the sincerest form of flattery. But at the premiums being asked for the re-editions (especially by grey market resellers), one would think it would be more satisfying to hunt down and own an original vers...
