Your long time point of view as a collector. There is a boom in vintage watch prices. In Mexico, even the poor kept examples, with repainted dials, over polished cases, franken watches, etc etc, have almost tripled in price. And that is too bad because uninformed collectors are buying them and keep growing the prices. Also it is a market, and as such it is subject to the market rules. Offering and demand. As long as someone with more resources (and there will always be someone with more resources or funds than you) is willing to pay more and more for the same pieces we like, we have to expect more increases in price. But good for us, enter here the importance of hunting down a watch, searching and knowing your limits too. But what I’m saying is not new to you surely.
Also the importance of focusing. As most of us can’t buy all the watches we would like, we have to narrow our search for those reachable pieces that will bring us the most pleasure our money can buy.
But who knows tomorrow? It’s good to dream!
Best.
