Impression after wearing black bay chronograph panda for 1 week

Oct 10, 2021,13:41 PM

Dear all
After wearing the new Tudor 79360N panda dial for one week, would like to share with you my initial impressions:

1. The accuracy of the MT5813 (modified from Breitling B01) caliber is superb. It loses 3 sec over one week. One of the best among all of my collection

2. The dial is lovely, resembling a paul newman daytona. The date window is not preferred, yet not too obtrusive due to the white background of the date wheel and dial.

3. The 41mm sized and 14.4mm thick case is big on my 16.5cm wrist, yet still bearable. I particularly like the narrow lugs, like those vintage Rolex, as well as the beveled edge around the entire side of case.

4. The bracelet is not bad, but it would be better if the clasp is slightly narrower and there are more holes (say 4 or 5) for the micro adjustment.

5. The activation of chronograph is a bit hard, but thatโ€™s expected in a vertical clutched column wheel chronograph.

After all, it is a superb daily watch with a very high value for money, especially for those who want to taste the B01 caliber.

Best,
Henry

Great value for money in this vertical clutch chrono from Tudor. Itโ€™s a neat watch.

So much to like in Tudor these days!

The thing that's turned me off with them is the cases being a bit too heavy and blocky, and, similarly, the clasps being too large. I know this is solved on the Black Bay 58s, but I'd love to see it follow through to the GMTs and Chronos (the Pelagos make...

Thanks for sharing the info about the ownership experience so far.

I tried this chrono when it was first introduced (after it won the GPH). Wear it in good health Hussam

Itโ€™s a compelling offering, but we are currently spoilt for choices ๐Ÿ˜.

Maybe in the future. If you keep sharing amazing wrist shots every week, the future may not be too far ๐Ÿ˜

Out of curiosity, which do you like better

I am lucky to have the reverse configuration. Iโ€™ve found that mine gains 2s/d. How do you store yours? I too few the same about the bracelet. I put mine on leather strap for the season and it seems to have slimmed the profile a bit.

Good for you. I have been wearing it since end of September and only leave it on a leather tray with crown up while taking shower and giving way for holiday watch in weekend.

Yes, leather strap indeed makes the watch look slimmer, but I have a preference for metal bracelet or plastic strap for my water resistant timepiece. Best, Henry
