I had a Mark XV, which I miss. They should have stopped there, or even arguably with the Mark XII.

I have the XVI and I think it's a candidate for a perfect daily wearer. A sleek 39mm case, robust and accurate movement, and timeless design. It holds its own against any of my Rolex watches.

Why no love for XIX? Some theories ……

I don’t follow the Mark closely so my knowledge of the history of this model is limited, but I’m curious to know why IWC skipped over XIX. IIRC, the Mark went from XII to XV, skipping 13 and 14 as I understand it because these numbers are considered eithe...

Not much to add to what "L8BRKN" has already stated...

Why no Mark 13 or 14? The answer is simply due to superstition. The number 13 is considered unlucky in the US and Europe while the number 14 is considered the same in Asia. As to number 19, there are claims that it is considered unlucky in Japan.

+++1!

The bastard child of the Mark series? From 2012 - 41 mm ...

Nice!!!

I hear IWC will be releasing a new Ingenieur soon. I wonder if it will have the same movement.

Ah that date window, still a bit off. Best one with date for me was the mark XV..

For the next iteration, hopefully a 38-39mm to mitigate the date window placement or a no date version. And with a bracelet option. Overall a nice offer for sure

I am with you!

Totally agree with you.

I still adore the recent Spitfire version. Dial symmetry and case size were perfect IMO with a mischievous touch of faux patina in certain indices. ☺️

It's 10.8 mm thick.
