1964 was a very special time for Seiko, with the Summer Olympics being hosted in Tokyo. As Seiko was the official time keeper, it makes sense that they would create a few very special limited editions for the event.
Here we have a very rare example of the Mono-pusher with a beautiful black sunburst dial.
The solid stainless steel case measures in at 38mm and has a black external rotating bezel showing the elapsed time in minutes, perfect for timing your next Olympic pace sprint to the whisky cabinet on a Friday night.
The caseback features the rarest and most sought after of three available engravings, the Olympic torch.
Rounding out this fine example of Japanese engineering is a Seiko cal. 5719 manual-winding chronograph movement (21 jewels) with column-wheel engagement and the original unsigned winding crown. The movement uses a 18,000 BPH frequency.
