This morning’s run.

A little bit of nostalgia on this morning’s run.

Look at that hill.  Doesn’t look so bad right?

So you’ve just ran down it (and some more hills before this), ouch, and maybe you are 7 or so miles into your run when you get back to this point.  This hill starts a series of climbs which gain 400m or so over the next 4-5 miles.  Fair enough, nothing too crazy.

But that’s your first loop; you need to do it all again.  Both the downhill, which you don’t feel but is hurting you, and the uphill.   By the end it’s a marathon, a little more than 26 miles and maybe 800m of total climbing (and descending).  That’s a pretty decent effort for anyone but you’ve trained for it so no biggie right?

Did I mention it was 85-90 F with very little shade?  Toasty.  It can be hard to keep your stomach settled exercising in that heat so you’re probably not feeling great either.

Oh yeah, and you’ve already swam 2.4 miles earlier that morning with a bunch of folks who were trying their best to kick and punch you.

And then you rode your bike 112 miles.  And now, yes only now, are you running.

There was no stop for lunch by the way, you ate that on your bike.

How’s that hill looking now?

I like your Garmin! One of the best companion to assist us on our outside journeys.

For sure, François-Paul has designed the Octa S models to answer the needs of a loyal customer who is a runner but I much prefer to wreck my Garmin if I happen to fall with my road bike, as I did twice ...

I’m definitely a Garmin fanboy.

This is my fourth watch and I’m on maybe my fourth bike computer also. Have to say, the new 745 is great. A much smaller watch which I like a lot.
