Opinion on this Omega RailRoad Wristwatch..

Dec 23, 2012,09:01 AM

Like to take this opportunity to wish everyone in the forum Happy Holidays and a happy new year.

I need your expert comment on this Omega RailRoad watch.  The dial  is a dead gorgeous one and is mint.  Did Omega ever issue this one in automatic movement?  I thought it is unusual.  The hands is obviously been replace with an ck2915 or SM300 ones (still looks good).  I think the owner may still hand the original set of black hands.  The case back stamp BK14704 1 SC. The case has a seamaster logo.  This watch housed with a 552 17 jewels. (shouldn't this be 24jewels movement?).

So any info or comment on this watch is much appreciated.  I love to own this watch though....with any luck I think I will.

I would be suspicious. Ref. 14704 is a normal Seamaster with a cal. 591 movement. So nothing is correct on this watch, dial shold be a Seamaster dial and movement a 591 and not a 552. If the cal. 552 should be correct for the version for the North America...

My suspicious is confirmed.

Hi, Wondering what you ended up doing with this watch? I think I am looking at the same one from a seller in Toronto, Canada. Cheers, Amy Tran
