. . . was on account of it not being, strictly speaking, a Professional, fitted with a cal 1863 movement.  It would've gained more traction had it been, in my humble opinion.

The secondary reason was skepticism over the Piguet-based movement, which garnered attention for mechanical issues. There were several reports of mechanical failures on forums at the time which affected its reputation.  Omega's cal 3201 was fitted to only three models, yours and two Museum references.  My understanding is that Omega resolved the mechanical issue but decided to develop their co-axial escapement within the confines of Swatch Group, so they didn't pursue further cooperation with Piguet.
