Anyone got this one on order? Thoughts otherwise? ...  

The general rule to all things... Only buy it if it's painful to live without it!

Some people like me were critical that it was still a Cam driven movement and not a column wheel movement. The pusher feel isn't quite as nice as a column wheel movement. Price is fairly high, there are other beautiful watches to consider at this price. F... 

But the Omega Speedmaster is definitely a cool watch. I procured the steel version myself.

with gold going particularly well with a green dial. Plus, this choice of green hue is great. That all being said, you’d expect this piece would get a proper dose of frenzied buying. To be seen.

Whether many people will buy? I think? I don’t know….

But there are other beauties out there at that price point as well. This would certainly not be a bad choice!

Comparing with the steel, do you like it so much to pay about 6X more for the green dial and gold? Not for me…. Do let us know your thoughts.

I am considering getting my first all gold watch and this seemed like a great contender. Awesome history, still quite available at retail, and great color in dark green. Def a lot more than steel counterpart but I guess you always pay more for gold. Other... 

and you can have it on a rubber strap giving it an alternative look. I’m just deciding on this one or the gold panda version. I have the Moonshine and it makes the decision a little more complicated. One thing is for sure, Omega won’t produce lots of them... 

I’d go with a speedy over a dayto anytime esp with the panda which will also look great on a black leather strap. i;m not a fan of the black rubber strap. Hope you get the panda so i can see more pics of it here. I think it’s a sleeper, the panda.

The panda dial catches the light beautifully and the green dial is very subtle, but also very cool.

But I guess I like green and it seems like the fad won’t always last long where green watches won’t always be available. As such, I am inclined to get nice green watches while they available. I feel like panda watches will always be around.

As you said, green watches won’t be made by watch co in this variety every year (compared to white/black dial). If green is your colour - feast!

In this market now, I can get a used Master Compressor Geographic - IWC 7 Day Portuguese - and a VC 2nd Gen Overseas Chrono. I guess all that still doesn’t scratch my full gold watch itch, but when you go full gold, you just pay I guess….

I think I may be in the boat of liking gold and green, but honestly never seen it in person. I am almost feeling like green is more exotic and lower in price that calls me to me more… maybe

Hard to get away from that the white gold doesn’t look like gold lol

But if it were me, I'd buy a steel speedmaster and get a great high horology piece too, maybe something like a UN Freak X, a Breguet 7027 or a JLC Amvox 2

I have got the JLC Extreme Lab 2 and Duometre so even if I let one go I’ll still have a nice high horo piece and still an full gold piece. The full gold itch just may be calling me too much

At the end of the day this hobby isn't about pure logic, if you enjoy it, follow your heart!

For me personally I think that Omega stretched the price too far (as they usually do with gold pieces),but that is of course very subjective and does not take anything away from the attractiveness of this Speedie.

I think I’ll also monitor the market and maybe see how the secondary market reacts to this piece before biting the bullet.

Despite changing trends it will always be a special watch. That’s my philosophy ;-) ...  

Only three years ago this much more special watch was 30+ % less expensive than the current green dial model ........ ...  

That is not the one I would choose. Nothing wrong with it at all, but I prefer other Speedmasters quite a bit more.

You would do the Panda?

Without giving any consideration to movement, price, or other ways to spend your money, I think it looks great. And I say this honestly because I am not a Speedie fan boy. None of the Speedie watches so far have piqued my interest enough to the point wher... 

None of them are readily available yet and I have not seen either in the flesh… so will take my time before making an order…

To me an ultimate full gold speedy would be sedna gold with black dial or moonshine gold with red bezel like Apollo 11. Either combination is more everlastingly classy and unique than the one with green dial. It would all come down to what your preference... 

But the panda one is enticing too.

Go for something that always sings to you and pleases you every time you look at it. To me the combo of green bezel with the sunray silver dial and a touch of yellow gold has given me a lot of wrist time for the past few years. Enjoy whatever gold version...  

So I put down a deposit, never seen this in the metal but if I don’t like it maybe one of you can take it off my hands!
