Dear Tony C.,

Thank you for your information.
I did not see it my self but I concur with you that it would not make much sense of making fake watch using Valjoux' rare cal. 720. I read somewhere that the entire production of cal. 720 was only 200 pieces, of which only a fraction was used by GP. I attach a picture that shows a detail of the movement beside the balance, where the name of the caliber can be read, together with a calligraphed letter R in uppercase. I have no idea of it's signification.
Thank you also for the link to the video. I had tracked that very same watch as being sold in 2006. But I have found 1, possibly 2 extra models on French website since my last post. May I ask you where you found the picture displayed in your post?
Another kind forummer has invited me to send him/ her a picture of the watch. I'll learn hopefully a little more about this watch, in which case I'll post it here.

Best regards
Ztirual

Hello, I am new on this forum and I admit my near total ignorance on all things GP. I have been offered a GP chronograph with flyback function, that appears to be a civilian version of the type 20 from the late 50's early 60's. Did such a watch ever exist...

OOPS I meant Valjoux' cal 720.

While Peter's knowledge of GP far exceeds mine (and that of most people on the planet), and his enquiry to factory led to contrary evidence, I'm, tempted to believe that they may well have been produced in very small numbers. I say that because Peter hims...

thank you!

...and it is certainly very possible that a small number of these watches were made. Cheers, Daos
