Three Bridges writing instruments
by Girard-Perregaux
A masterpiece of the Girard-Perregaux Manufacture, the Tourbillon with three gold Bridges has inspired an exceptional collection of writing instruments. Combining traditional craft, technicality and contemporary creativity, these elegantpens take the pleasure of writing to new heights.
Girard-Perregaux is one of the few authentic Swiss watch Manufactures. Its history has been marked by exceptional creations, such as the famous Tourbillon with three gold Bridges: in the 19th Century, Constant Girard-Perregaux invented a new watchmaking architecture. Starting with a Tourbillon escapement, he designed the three bridges holding the movement's parts to be arrow shaped, and set them in parallel. This became a design element in its own right. A prize winner at the Paris Universal Exhibition in 1889, it is still made to this day by the Manufacture, true to the original spirit.
The elegant and unique Three Bridges writing instruments are a reinterpretation of this heritage. Their body is adorned with precious metal engraved with delicate guilloche work. As if echoing the watchmaking expertise it is inspired by, this decoration is reminiscent of the mainplate of a top-class watch: the Vintage 1945 Tourbillon with three gold Bridges. The clip on the cap is double-arrow shaped, like the bridge on the famous timepieces. This look is also suggested by the three openings designed as part of the pen body. Indicating the ink level remaining at any time, their usefulness is reminiscent of the power reserve indicators on the Manufacture's watches.
Reflecting Girard-Perregaux's philosophy, the beauty of the object is accompanied by sophisticated technique and special attention to detail, to ensure optimum user comfort. The fountain pen is equipped with an exclusive high-capacity double reservoir system to prevent any risk of leakage. As an additional intricacy, a screw on the cap enables easy clip flexibility adjustment. While the pen proportions have been designed for optimum handling, the engraved gold nib lends its graceful curves to a flexible and fluid quality of writing.
The fruit of patient manual labour performed with remarkable expertise, this prestigious object can only be conceived as a limited and numbered edition. Available as a silver fountain pen or roller, in a set combining the two and as a pink gold fountain pen, they will be presented simultaneously at Girard-Perregaux watch retailers, and in shops specialising in top-end writing instruments.

The Girard-Perregaux Manufacture
Few names in the rarefied world of Swiss "Haute Horlogerie" are as evocative and rich in history as Girard-Perregaux. The activities of our company can be traced as far back as 1791, giving us more than two centuries of heritage and making us what we are today.
Some of the most innovative designs and movements first created by Constant Girard in the 19th Century, like the Tourbillon with three gold Bridges, are still being made today, though with some modifications. It is extremely rare for the form and function of an object to remain unchanged for so long.
Girard-Perregaux has always been committed to innovation. The Manufacture has registered more than eighty patents in the field of watchmaking and re-invests a good part of its revenue in research and development. R&D is what keeps our products and Brand relevant and inspires us to continue improving what we do in an endless quest for excellence.
Furthermore, Girard-Perregaux is one of the few remaining genuine Swiss watch Manufactures (the word comes from the Latin for "made by hand"). Our definition of a Manufacture is a company that takes a holistic approach to watchmaking, designing, creating, developing and producing both the external components of a watch and its core, the movement.
For our clients, this means that our integrated, value-added approach is fundamental in building an authentic product stamped with its own genuine identity rather than a simple assembly of components. Girard-Perregaux has an extensive portfolio of sophisticated movements.
Most of Girard-Perregaux's mechanical movements are automatic, a choice that illustrates the Brand's resolutely modern approach and in-depth research into innovative materials and the latest production technologies. These movements provide the degree of comfort we have come to expect in today's timepieces, combined with the rich legacy of centuries of preserved tradition.
Girard-Perregaux's unique design approach is another characteristic that sets it apart from the competition. Our watches are not merely reproductions of our past successes, but are developed with a different, modern outlook so that the company's 200-year heritage is reflected in the application of the latest technology. This is why our collection is constantly evolving and why Girard-Perregaux's unique designs are often awarded prizes at international watch competitions.
