For you who are considering Chopard Alpine Eagle...

Just came back from my AD to try them. They are pretty difficult to get. I tried both size, 36 and 41 mm. First and Second pictures : The 41 mm is too large for me, especially the lug to lug which is about 52 mm. Although the dial size itself is OK because of the thick bezel maKe the dial smaller. As you can see from second picture, there are visible gaps between my wrist and lugs. The 41 mm wears masculine. The third and last pictures; The 36 mm wear very comfortable, fit my 6.7" wrist perfectly. It's quite elegant. Unfortunately, the dial size is very small, about 27 mm across. As you can see in the last pictures, it looks small on my wrist (close-up pictures always looks bigger, so a 1 meter distance is more accurate for the real size appearance). The Lucent steel A223 is very luxurious and shiny, almost like white gold. It has nice heft, and Chopard maintain the very high build quality. Everything feels solid. One thing I don't like : the clasp mechanism is rather cumbersome. It uses friction pin, but without any push buttton or lever to put your nail. You have to yank/pull the bracelet outward pretty hard. It is one of the most unintuitive mechanism I've ever known. Finally, left the AD with mixed feeling. The price is very reasonable, and the staff even offered 15% discount without me asking anything. But something about the size and the clasp mechanism does not quite right.

I was at there boutique a few weeks ago , trying the new chrono . This watch is just to big and bulky imho . Love the way it looks but still mixed feelings , also tried the 41 and 36 the 36 looks perfect but also to small for my taste, the 41 is much bett...

So much potential but not playing the wrong game...

Feel that if they had tried a little less to conform to NautiliOak design territory they may have had something on this. Any Brand that offers me 15% on the RRP... I will just walk out. Most brilliant way to devalue your Brand and undermine the value prop...

I don’t mind this design

But the price makes it an instant no no!

The smaller version is a winner,

love also the fact that it has no date window. George

I think they should do 38 mm instead of 36 mm. Would be a perfect mid-size, considering the wide bezel.

The difference between 41 and 36 is too distant, IMHO

Interesting post!

Must have a close look at the different versions of this bird.

This eagle 🦅 is a worthwhile pickup!

Both are fine but really up to you on which size you feel more comfortable with. Good luck and let us know your decision.

I am not considering it. But the brand is a specific one. Typical for enthusiasts than for the traders who want to invest. Chopard i think you buy for keep it your whole life. The L.U.C. watches are interesting for me, cause of the dressier way. We’ll see...

The other strong candidate is GP Laureato in 38 mm

I have not had chance to try it. There is not a dealer here, so might have to wait for opportunity to fly abroad. The 38 mm should be the sweet spot, perfect size for my medium wrist. The price is about the same with 36 mm alpine eagle. GP has more pedigr...

GP were are you?

Here the same, no GP AD. Chopard have some AD’s here. So i keep on buying watches which are available in my country. Zenith, Longines, Rolex, AP, etc etc.

Leave Kering

Yes, GP must leave Kering. Kering to much fashion orientated company.

Interesting about the clasp

Mine (I have the blue dial in the larger size) works fine - actually it feels quite nice. My wife has the smaller one in blue too, and every time she wears it I just can’t stop staring at that dial. The steel is definitely harder and brighter than regular...

Hi E, is the eagle 🦅...

only available in boutiques??

Theoretically it is available in the ‘wild’ of ADs

 By: Esharp : April 5th, 2021-07:30
...but so far I’ve only seen it in *one* AD. Now I don’t exactly hang out with dealers these days...dealers of any sort, let me be clear! ...but there are three Chopard ADs in the complex where my office is located, as well as a boutique, and only the bou...

To be clear, the eagles I have tried, came fropm a Chopard boutique in our capital city, which lend the pieces to my AD (I live in other province) so I can try them

So yes, until now, it has been almost 2 years since the Alpine launched, only boutiques have them
