Chopard Alpine Eagle (VCO G1 (42042) photo as bonus)
Visited a friendly Chopard AD today to try out their latest release of Alpine Eagle. Initially I was drawn to the blue dial but the grey dial 41mm case caught my attention.
The greyish silver dial with the texture is an absolute feast for my eyes. The white Chopard name on it does not appear too prominent, which is a good thing. The bezel is proportionately size that provides a classy appeal, unlike the 41mm Royal Oak which can look a bit too chunky . The only complaint is the screws direction, they are not placed in the same direction, I’m not sure if this is Chopard’s intention.
The bracelet is beautifully finished, the clasp is nicely concealed, but lack micro adjustment.
I can’t comment on the movement, but pretty sure LUC movement from Fleurier will not disappoint.
Overall, this new Chopard Alpine deserves a good respect from watch fans. Many commented it’s a rip off from RO or Nautilus, I dare to differ. This piece is undoubtedly in a genre of Luxury Sport watch, like Driver Sport watches, they can pretty much look the same. The distinctive part of this watch, however, is the superb textured dial and the attention to detail that set themselves apart from others as the Luxury Sport piece from Fluerier, not Genève.
For the fun of it, I post my humble VCO G1 as a comparison.

Is it a true L.U.C movement?
L.U.C is the special higher end Chopard movement with higher level finishing.
Hi Patrick, it’s a 01.01C movement based on Fleurier Ebauches, not the famous Calibre 96 base.
