Predictions for the Audemars Piguet Royal Oak 50th Anniversary..what to expect
Feb 21, 2021,01:58 AM
A million dollar question and yet a very important milestone of an icon “Royal Oak”..what are your thoughts and what would happen ? Will it meet the fate of Nautilus 5711 with all the rumours of it being discontinued etc .. last update to the ultra thin 39mm was in 2012 when the Oak turned 40. And that watch today has become grail as not many produced and very few lucky ones get thru the boutique at retail .
The design is perfect and so are the dimensions . I see a complete revamped in-house movement , perhaps a new lock to the bracelet and maybe a ceramic black out version having visuals of the famous Karl Lagerfield watch. Or will it be a ultra thin platinum iteration with baguette diamonds index markers some what similar to what Patek did with nautilus . Probably vintage looking box etc ..
So many possibilities ...what do you think ?

Will they release a brand new Royal Oak, or just offer Anniversary series? The latter would be as easy as pie, I could think of multiple homerun anniversary Royal Oak watches that would all sell out. I think they will have more in store for us than that.....
