Another very good review from Nicolas ;)

@Nicolas: do you have a caseback photo of the prototype? Maybe it shows the serial number?
@Gareth: It would be very interesting to compare your serial number with the serial numbers of watches for sale on websites like chrono24 where you can read them.
Best,
E.

Geophysic True Seconds - No model text on dial

 By: gareth_reid : February 24th, 2021-03:03
Hi everyone, First time poster but long time lurker on these blogs! After many years of looking I've finally decided to purchase a Geophysic True Seconds in steel. I've just taken delivery from Watchfinder, had a really good experience with them and the w...

Very interesting!

The true second are pretty rare, this one even rarer!! Interesting what the "retailer" told you, I would have thought it could have been a prototype rather than an end of series. Would you mind posting us some pictures of the case back? Did you buy it new...

Case back

It was registered in 2018 to Harrods. I would say it was pre-owned in excellent condition and I believe WF gave it a check over and polish. ...

I knew I had read it somewhere!

Here you go: You should check the serial number. Maybe the story is correct but the watch was at Harrods from 2015? E.

Great First Post!

Firstly, congrats on a great piece. I always pondered that one, but it felt a bit too 'dressy' to me, still often consider one with a view to switching to a more basic calfskin strap. With respect to your dial, I've never seen that or heard of that. Visua...

Thanks very much

I was wearing a Rolex Milgauss all last week so the JLC feels like having a feather strapped to my wrist. For a 39.6mm dial it does have good presence on the wrist. What I've always liked about it is the fact it looks like a simple 3 hand / date dress wat...

Thanks for the info

Is the "making of" and blog/article you have posted before? Can you share a link? Any ideas on why they would produce both? Can this plain dial be shared with another model in the catalogue? Sorry just saw the link above!

Here is the detailed review....

I'd reach out to JLC and ask them

...for piece of mind. But if Watchfinder's story checks out I'd keep the one you have, as I prefer the look of the cleaner dial.

Looks like you got your answer from Nicolas

“The change that took place was after the first few months of releasing the product on the market. We would also like to inform you that less than 500 watches were produced with this particularity”

Cool news.

Production numbers

I guess the only unanswered question I had (which most watchmakers don’t like to answer) is how many were produced per year? 🤷‍♂️

No guess.
