... movements & parts by 1 year!

Dear All:

in a ruling published today the Swiss Competition Authorities (WeKo) obliges Swatch Group to continue delivering raw movements and movements parts also in the year 2013 to the same quantities as in 2012 (movements 85% and components 95% of the quantities delivered in 2010, respectively).

WeKo opened an anti-trust case against Swatch Group in June 2011 with the aim to investigate whether Swatch Group's decision to stop delivery of movements and components to customers outside Swatch Group is in breach of the Swiss anti-trust laws. The investigations could not be completed as yet.

Since ordering deadlines for movements and components are usually several months and watch makers need planning dependability for the upcoming business year, WeKo decided to extend the preliminary measures (see above) that have been enacted in agreement with Swatch Group, by one year.

Cheers,
Magnus
