Those numerals remind me strongly of the 5170 or 5370p - and the needle hands.. wonderful! Looks like a very nicely sized case as well, colour me intrigued.
As much as i agree with the tradition of a gold or otherwise sentimental piece, if he eschews a vintage or independent I can't argue. He teased me a bit over my purchasing a Daytona when my son was born earlier this year, so he is a tough customer to please.
