Bianchet Tourbillon

Sep 13, 2021,12:42 PM

Rodolfo and Emmanuelle Bianchet have launched their Bianchet B1.618 openwork tourbillon. The watch is stated to be fitted with a proprietary caliber ( in collaboration with Olivier Mory) in a tonneau case of 43x50 mm and shock resistant to 6000G. The dimensions of the watch are stated to be as per the golden-ratio; and the 50ft WR watch carries a power reserve of 105 hours . The titanium version weighs 55 gms ( carbon composite weighs 33gms).

Interesting creation, but very eerily resembling a Richard Mille is that first thought that sprang to me. Priced at CHF 46500 before taxes, it looks a tad expensive as well.

I don't know if it is legally a copycat but I would not feel comfortable with such a watch on the wrist...

...and a copycat at that price that's an original concept! I cannot imagine they will need to open a waiting list...

Why would anyone choose this design to launch a new watch brand?

The only question that remains is if the next piece will be an RM chrono, or a copy of the Nautilus. This brand is dead on arrival, if you ask me. Pity for the work that went into it, it may even be a very well-made watch… Daniel

Quite a good idea....
