A visit with Maria and Richard Habring

Oct 13, 2019,07:35 AM

Friday I meet up again with the owners of Habring2 who had come to Southern California for an evening reception hosted by our local Independent Watchmaker-supporting store. I joined a dozen or more watch enthusiasts from around the US for drinks, a nice meal, and lots of watch talk.

We learned the Habrings currently have two employees besides themselves; they can produce around 200 watches a year; it’s hard to keep trainees more than a few years (at least in Austria), and they love what they do — which is make watch lovers happy. We saw some new watches too — like this 5-minute repeater.

We were joined by another independent watchmaker, Keaton Myrick, who flew down from Oregon.

Do you have some more pics of the Keaton watch and some other pics of the habring? As the expression goes, especially for these watches, a picture says a thousand words.

I might have some from previous visits

Friday I talked to people more and took fewer pictures. Here are a few Habring2 images: I’ll look later today. In the meantime, check out Keaton’s site Cheers, Cazalea ...

Awesome! Thanks for sharing :)

Loud, crisp, and at a remarkable price of €18,500🙂. I took particular interest to the COS with a central minutes totalizer. Thanks to Richard, Maria, Tim & Janna for the wonderful evening🙏. It was great to see you again, Mike👍 ...

Speaking of central seconds chrono ... this Faberge was super

Spotted on the arm of one of the guests - he just picked it up that day ...

Looks like a great event.

Two great indie brands. And a lot of passionate collectors together talking watches. Really like the new line from Habring (salmon dials) . And would love to see the keaton watches in person one day
