Good day, Sir. I read this terrific account at the time and was glad to do so again just now. By happy coincidence I came to WPS today to ask about the Evasion World Time, which you note above.

I've just bought one of the initial 100 in white gold and wanted to know a little more about it. I have all the basic information (reference number, movement, made for Japanese market, other properties) so my curiosity has more to do with the circumstances that brought this 'Cottier-lite' watch about.
Perhaps to be more specific:
1. What was the direct impetus to produce this watch? Was it in response to specific signals from Japanese collectors? How was it received?
2. Was there ever any intention to produce it more widely, or did it keep to VC's tendency to produce references in small numbers and then move on?
3. Once the second iteration in rose gold was released, did the Evasion WT simply bid a dieu or has there been any attempt at a reprise since?
4. Are there any reviews of the watch available from watch publications at the time? (I've looked but so far no success)
5. And, perhaps, the most obvious question from someone with no prior experience of VC, why "Evasion"? It's such a curious - evasive? - name.
The photo below is of the watch I bought yesterday (due July). It was taken by the merchant.
Thank you very much in advance for any insights you may be able to share.
With best regards.
