Drop the Anchor

May 11, 2020,12:04 PM

Today, I dug out my camera which I bought last year, but haven't really used much because it turned out that it wasn't as easy as I thought it might be compared to using my iPhone. Anyway, I've been trying to get some better pictures this afternoon using the camera - it was hard, but I have learnt a lot from the experience. Probably all obvious stuff, but I enjoyed it and feel I have a bit better understanding now of things like light, depth of field, shutter speed etc.  When I look at my Freak, it is always fascinating to observe from different angles in different light because of the depth to the dial allows the light to reflect in many different ways. Here is a shot which tries to show this aspect of the Freak.

Best MNG. You took a picture, and it let fall the coin into the slot machine. I recognize anchors. After some years i see it. The freak have anchor hands. The DNA of the brand. I always thought it was a fantasy design, freaky and unique. Still unique, tha...

Yours is one without a crown. That is a really great Freak. My budget can only go for a Freak with a crown. But, i said to many things it is a dream and what happen is i’ve got them. So, i know one day it is on my wrist .

A good dream watch

Not for dreaming, and it gives me joy to look at, a green Rolex submariner is so fresh. At 40mm, just flow on my wrist. Realistic, this would be my new watch.

Looks like a Kermit. Just a HULK. The size can it differ by year? I want a rubber strap on the Hulk. RubberB or a Zealande.

No, it still is 40 mm, but the Freak is much bigger. [nt]

I take your point, maybe a half brother then? Definitely not a step brother for sure. I prefer my BC for me, but I like the Freak X and can see reasons why some may prefer it to a full fat Freak - cheaper, lighter, self winding for starters.

A great start Freak

You have a point. Now i must set my mindset. Because i find it very cool, a watch without a crown, doing it all different. Winding it by turn a ring.

Yep, you reply the Freak i like. The other Freak i like is the black and white. A member here owns one. Looks a bit like a AP RO off shore black and white when you squeeze your eyes.

The Freak is in my eyes a very interesting wristwatch. But i do not buy particularly a very interesting watch. I want watches which i can wear in daily situations. A Rolex is that kind of watch which is perfect for daily events. Rock solid, keep value, ti...

Yes, there is a lot to learn, but the Freak is an excellent subject to start on, that is true.

Yes, they are a real eye catching aspect

They change colour before your eyes, it's weird. I haven't seen a watch that changes identity so much with moving light. They maybe should have named it Chameleon.

It was quite a challenge, but I learnt a lot. I made it harder for myself because I like to see movement in the balance wheel, but not the escapement, which I discovered really narrows options down quite a bit. As an experienced guy, you might be amused a...
