an unauthorized tribute to Daido Moriyama...

When one consider photographers who have worked in Japan, certainly the list must include Daid? Moriyama (?? ?? - born 1938). A lot has been written about him and his work... a lot has been publish by Moriyama as well... wikipedia lists at least 65 solo publications. I particularly like the work he did in Hokkaido... and on my recent trip to that northern island, I found that I shot a number of photographs that might, if you stretch a little , be assembled as a short unauthorized tribute.

Daido Moriyama is "noted for his images depicting the breakdown of traditional values in post-war Japan" and you can find his work easily enough on the internet, including his own home page... If you get a chance, look through his work... you are certain to find something that you like.

If you find a few photos in your files that remind you of someone's work, please share...

and I prefer the last three of this set... I just need to find an old dog somewhere... I took another look at some of his Hokkaido work and found that I could even go more OOF with more camera shake... There is such an interest to go "clean" as per a rece...

including currently active ones... Moriyama was interesting to me because of his work in Hokkaido... but I need to pay attention to current photographers as well... Casey
