Lovely scenery and ride
Nov 21, 2020,15:57 PM
My friend and bike buddy Chris (now in Dorset) says:
”Nice pics - watches AND bikes - and latter bit where I grew up and ancestors on mother’s side came from. Changed a bit since I were a lad though. Sometimes I think not for the better. It was a great, deserted and secret place way back then!
Oh yes- tell him to carry on north up the canal. Past the old Jensen factory, if it’s still there, and the glassworks they made the glass for Crystal Palace. We did a great ride up there and through the Netherton Tunnel (think it’s the longest in England) then threw bikes onto an electric barge past the Black Country Museum (like Old Town, SD) and under Dudley by way of tunnel and old limestone caverns (home of the Dudley Bug). We did it as part of a British Waterways (as it was then) ride. Not sure if you could do it all solo.”
