A few days in Jodhpur saw us crossing paths with these 2 brothers who acted as our guide. Before proceeding to Pipar for a visit to an old Indigo dyeing facility, the brothers asked if they could bring us to their place for lunch. We were a bit skeptical but sure why not. The hotel had our details just in case so we felt safe taking a detour off our itinerary. We were quite surprised when we entered their place. It was quite a big property. The brothers explained that they were also into horse breeding and requested if we'd take a few photographs for a publication that they were being featured. We knew we were literally being taken for a ride but then why not.. India, horses, a couple of interesting characers.. sure why not. Of course, we didn't bother with lunch but was quite conscious about not making it look like we were shunning their hospitality.
So here's a couple from that detour.
Jodhpur, 2017
Had the gentleman been of South American descent, it would've given the photo a lifestlye, pablo escobar-ish type of vibe. I really enjoy photographing people with this kind of skin tone and in this humidity. It gives the face this kind of sheen that one can liken to photographing asphalted street after the rain. The Monochrom thrives in such conditions
