last January in Akita there was almost no snow while Aomori (further north) had about a usual amount for that time of year.... Two years ago in Niigata I experienced 30 cm of snow in one day, at the moment it's raining there. It goes back to my premise that there are only two problems in the world... too much or too little ; ) Maybe February is the new January... Casey

Japan certainly got it's share of precipitation this year, it just so happened to all come in the warmer months. I was born in a winter month so I enjoy the cold... Casey
