Poor Basel coverage and the Hautlence HL Sphere
Dear all,
Considering one of the marvels at this year's Basel — and I say that as a long-time aficionado of many brands, including delightfully pedestrian ones — has received little to no attention yet from major watch websites I tend to enjoy, I thought I'd share these links as a courtesy to whoever was behind the development.
Yeah, I get all hot and steamy reading about new sizes, bezels and dials as much as the next guy (indeed, Oris, Seiko and Rolex really came out swinging [and a miss...] this year, didn't they?), but when people put something fascinatingly odd like this together, I think it should at least be noted on a WatchProSite, whether you approve of the design or not. It's funny that when I go to a trade fair or read motorcycle magazines, all the crazy stuff is right there in my face, but when it comes to watches, some of the least innovative stuff gets primetime. Wonder why that is... I hope the websites do better next year. They might have some power to change what watch makers put out, even if it isn't always creative.
