now that I am retired and moving back to SG for good next year. I would dearly love to find a reputable dealer there and maybe I will be very lucky to find myself a Calatrava too smile

Given that pretty much every forum and blog over the last month has been writing articles about the craziness of the steel sports watch market, mainly over Patek and Rolex, I think we can still find many, many more interesting alternatives instead of foll...

A true classic! [nt]

Thank you! I think so too

The Calatrava’s don’t seem to be spoken of much these days, but to me, they are one of the defining families of Patek.

Congratulations Richard!

Fantastic photos of a classic Patek! And 34mm suits you very well

More important,

that it pleases you Richard! It is a terribly under rated and therefore under priced reference and you were spot on to get it.

That is definitely one element that I wanted

I have enough watches with a sub second dial on it.

Congrats on this classic

I don’t think you’ll have too hard a time :-)

And you’ll be in a place where there are plenty of reputable dealers, both in country and across the causeway.

Congrats on finding a classic watch with all its...

elegance and Patek DNA ! Enjoy it often, until your next “itch”

I’m trying to put an end to the itches!

After a while, there are few watches out there that I desire, so it is a good thing, for me at least

Well deserved! [nt]

Timeless and beautiful

Congrats my friend. It fits nicely and the thinness never cease to amaze. Looking forward to seeing it at the next gtg.

Congratulations! 3802J was my very first PP in 1988. I still have it in my collection. Can't forget your first! [nt]

the rotor still sounds like music when you spin the watch around.

Thank you!

My first was a 5124J, but it had to be let go when it just never made wrist time and had a tough time competing against the others in the collection. But you’re right, you never forget your first!

Very nice watch. Wonderful picture. A classic, very elegant. 👍

Thank you for the nice comments.

These “old timers” are elegant for sure. Something I think many others out there should pay attention to. I guess it is in our advantage, as these can be had at a more reasonable price than the steel models.

Just as elegant!

Very nice sample you have. The sub seconds stand out, and in my view that’s because Patek removed the minute track on the outer dial so as to keep it clean.

A gentleman’s forever classic

this month is the 48th birthday of my 3520D. Purchased in Nice three blocks from the Negresco. Manual wind. No seconds, no date, 33mm. My thinnest watch. The hobnail bezel and the white enamel, black Roman numerals are special. Enjoy it......
