First local cruise night for the year and I managed to bring two of my cars.

My small NJ town has had monthly cruise nights, spring through fall, for decades and I've rarely missed a month in 20 years. But due to the virus, last week was the first of the season with only one more scheduled for next month.

At first I drove my '64 356 since it hasn't been out for a couple months, but since I live only about a quarter mile from the show, I just decided to walk home and get the Jag. Glad I did since everyone's so used to me bringing either the Porsche or the MG, very few have had the chance to see the XJ6. It was quite well received, especially since I certainly don't consider an '86 Jag a show car--it's my daily driver--but I couldn't resist.

Only about 60 cars showed up where normally there'd be over a hundred, but still a nice night to get out and enjoy the cars.

I agree 100% about the thrill of the ride.

It can be just as much a thrill at 40mph as at 70mph without the need to break any speed barriers. Shifting through the gears watching the rpm’s climb what a joy. Not the real deal but a off build from the 1970’s. Shifting

Very cool

I like these drive-up & park car shows. Mike ...

The Daimler is basically an original owner car, or at least it's currently owned by the daughter of the original owner.

Her mother bought it new in '62 and she inherited it and has had it repainted, the interior done and a new top. It showed up at one of our cruise nights years ago and at that time the paint was a bit faded, the interior worn, and it also looks like some w...

After pricing the repro Ferrari ones and finding they would cost almost $900 I decided home-made was the way to go. They're spring-loaded like the originals so they work the same way, but for $890 less than the real deal. LOL

Thank you. In my younger days I loved doing all the big jobs like custom bodywork and interiors, enhancing performance, modifying suspensions...

...but with age has come less patience, more aches and pains and, even though I'm retired, much less time! So now I enjoy these smaller projects where I can just make or modify small parts and make minor modification.

Your 356 and the Jaguar are a great combination ...

I wish I had more room. LOL. I do get tempted when I see something interesting but so far, no plans.

Someone advertised a Caterham 7 for sale for what I thought was a steal based on the like-new condition and price but it was too far away to make it practical. I realize I could have arranged to have it delivered for a few hundred dollars but I'm more of ...
