Not so fond of my vintage car today
May 18, 2020,13:13 PM
Last year I had to pull my *&%*&^$^& fuel tank out due to bad hoses (ruined by age & new fuels)
It's a terrible job (made especially aggravating since after a few years Citroen removed the access port in the floor that allowed you to reach these things from inside the car under the back seat.
At least the tank and hoses and wires were clean this time, since I've not driven it off-road or on any long journeys since then.
Then the fuel gauge stopped working and we ran out a few weeks ago. I swore "No More of This!" and ordered a new sender which amazingly was available.
Today I had to go down to Harbor Freight and give myself an early birthday present "alloy floor jack" as my old one from Sears in 1985 blew up.
After making a lap down to the gas station with my truck to fill up cans of gas, and restocking the tank at home, I went out for a ride.
Only a vintage car guy would appreciate the thrill of a working fuel gauge (everyone else takes them for granted).
