I immediately told him I was buying it and I didn't need to see it since I looked at it a dozen years earlier. He refused to take my money until I looked it over carefully. But reality is, I was afraid if I looked at it too closely I might find problems that could make me change my mind about the purchase and I just couldn't let that happen. As far as I was concerned, there was no way I was going to let it go to someone else, no matter what. As it turned out it was in even better condition than I expected it to be but I probably would have bought it no matter what I found when looking it over. I just wanted it. It's how car guys are.
