BVLGARI 2019

Another 2019 winner for their fifth iteration of the extra-thin automatic Octo Finissimo Collection with a Chronograph-GMT complication.  Within the sand-blasted 42mm titanium case of 6.90mm thick is their Calibre BVL 318, exceptionally thinness of 3.30mm.

Octo Finissimo Chrono GMT Titanium,  full titanium piece - dial, crown, bracelet and folding-clasp.
Chronograph pushers at 2H & 4H positions, sandwiching the crown like a crown-guard.

The GMT-adjuster is at 9H.

Pushers are seamlessly blend with the faceted architectural design of the watch.
The titanium crown is adorned with a black polished ceramic.  The case is specified to 30m water-resistance.

On the sand-blasted titanium dial -  hour, minute and chronograph hands.  The sub-dials - at 3H is 24-hr local timezone, 6H - 30-minute totaliser and small second at 9H.

The chronograph pushers, easily depressed, snappy, pretty good tactile feedback.  Chronograph-hand is steady, not jumpy, probably due to the column-wheel.

Titanium bracelet and clasp, with exposed strap-pin area for ease of possible strap change or even occasional cleaning of the bracelet in a ultrasonic-machine.

Caliber BVL 318, has a power-reserve of 55 hours, charged by a platinum peripheral-rotor with a full unobstructed view of the decently finished movement.

For those who prefer a bit of heft, chunkier watch, the Octo L'Originale Chronograph may be a good alternative.

The 41mm case is a combo of steel and rose gold with a water-resistance rating at 100m.
The black part is sandblasted stainless steel case treated with DLC (Diamond-like carbon coating) with 18 kt rose gold octagon and crown.
On the anthracite dial is 18 kt rose gold hand-applied indexes, and sub-dials - 3H is 30-min totaliser, 6H is 12-hour totaliser and small-second at 9H.

Integrated black rubber strap

BVL 328, a 5-Hz calibre with a silicon escapement and 50 hour power-reserve.

For the Ladies, this is one interesting piece - the Lvcea Skeleton.

Another new one with quartz movement - Serpenti Seduttori. Thinner than previous Turbogas collection and with hexagonal stylized links instead for the bracelet.

Maybe it is worth mentioning that the chunkier chrono has got a Zenith base movement. But I am sure Bulgari fans know this. Thank you for this post!

Five years back, nothing would stop me in front of a Bulgary window. Now what they’re doing with their Octo range is really impressive. Creating a new icon in the sports watch segment. Last week I had the chance to try on the Octo Skeleton in Ti, my favor...

Well-said ...

Actually they are pretty good with their Grande Sonnerie and repeaters. But they did not entrench in this particular segmentation. Thanks for viewing, Daniel. Kong

I was at the boutique in London today and discussed the transition that Bulgari has made from an owner of brands (Roth and Genta) to creator of a completely new approach to ultra slim watchmaking. The Octo range does dominate a bit and according to some i...

A few words come to mind. Edgy. Innovative. Record breaking. A middle finger to the ennui of heavily branded 2-name Swiss watch makers basking in the glory of years past. ...

Congrats! [nt]
