Blow-up is one of a handful of films so subliminally powerful it exerts a hold on the imagination beyond its nominal confines. When I first saw it about a dozen years ago, I immediately sensed an intentional correlation by the director to JFK's assassination and the Zapruder film. After reading the Wiki entry for Blow-up, apparently Anthony Quinn made the same observation in a review written for The Guardian in 1966.
My Dinner With Andre is the other film that left me dazed and bemused by its esoteric subliminal messaging.
