Wrist Scan for Friday 6th of March is Open!! Theme "Defining Grail Watch"
Mar 06, 2020,05:21 AM
Hello dear Friends! Wrist Scabn is open and you may post in this same thread!
As announced last Wednesday I will have the pleasure of hosting this week end edition and I am inviting our members to participate sharing with us their Grail Watches.
We are specially interested to view your Grail Watches already in your collection, regardless its comercial value. The important matter is the significance of a Grail for its owner beyond a market price.
Additionally I thought it would be very interesting to know your points of view regarding what means "Grail Watch" answering a few questions:
- A Grail Watch is always a timepice with a high tag price or it can be a rare piece we covet but we can´t find though the price is low?
- Does exist only one real "Grail Watch" in our collecting career... or when we finally reach it automatically our mind sets another Grail to hunt?
- Can we have more than one "Grail Watch" in our wish list or this category should be reserved to only one piece?
- Does a Grail Watch loose this status once we are lucky enough to own it?
- Are true Grails only those pieces that we absolutely know are beyond our reach due to our economic/financial posibilities or those pieces so rare that are almost impossible to be found?
As I told in my provious announcement, in my personal case my Grail for years had been the 5110 Patek WT, a dream I could fullfil a few years ago through a lucky event.
Last year I was thrilled when I got another Grail: I had dreamed for years with the 1969 full gold Speedmaster and the new Omega offering of a new versión of that watch made that dream come true: The Speedmaster Moonshine.
Presently I keep several other "Grail Watches" in my wish list ... though I know some of them I will never be able to own. For example: a Patek Perpetual calendar chronograph with salmon dial and platinum case ( Their reference 5270P would do nicely!) . Dreams are free of charge... and who knows... sometimes they come true!
So the challenge for this week end is to share with us shots of "Grail Watch" (or Grail Watches) you own and also share with us your thoughts about what means these magical words for you.
Your own definition of "Grail Watch"!
Have a lovely week end and an enjoyable participation in our WS!!
Cheers! Abel.
As usual, there are three categories:

Best Watch of the Week (to be judged among the watches submitted to this edition)
Participants may submit photographs for any of these categories or for all of them.
