Hello Friends!
Theme may seem complicated at first glance but as we think back in our experiences with hunting watches I´m sure we will find occasions in which we said “Never” regarding owning certain timepieces.
Watch C ollecting is a long and meandering journey and it takes a whole lifetime to cover. And during all this time we learn new things and facts, discover new brands and models and of course... we change our minds.
Present status of our collections is the answer to our own personal changes. In many cases what we once felt we didn´t like and would never own, the pass of time can turn it in a "I badly need it" class!
It happened to me several times. It seems I still don´t learn to keep my mouth shut! Lol!
My pictures bellow will illustrate what I mean!
Come on friends! Let´s show those watches you said you would never buy and now are your joy and pride!
And if you think you have never pronounced the word “Never” show us a timepiece which is unique and completely different from all other watches in your collection.
I wish you will have a wonderful and enjoyable week end my friends!
All the best, Abel.
I said I would never buy a watch with a dial in such a distressed condition… Till I was offered this Sub ref 5512 from 1960.
I said I would never spend that kind of money in an “old manual winding Daytona” till around eight years ago I was offered this 1967 ref 6239 with a nice story from the original owner.
I thought “Ouch! Never would buy this cartoon watch” and said “no this is not for me, thank you!” when I was offered a Snoopy Speedy for first time. A couple of months later I was desperately hunting for this one.
