Montblanc Vintage Chronographe Monopusher

Dec 07, 2019,04:21 AM

So this is the latest edition to my collection, the beautiful Vintage Chronographe Monopusher in white gold with a black enamel dial.

The Montblanc collection Villeret 1858 is in my experience the best finish of a caliber that you can get and only comparable with ALS high end models - but at a much better price point. And manufactured from a brand which is known to millions of customers as a top notch luxury brand, so for me the name on the (enamel!) dial generates trust in the product and not distrust (or even dislike).

However, the demand for these rather expensive models - that were produced only in Villeret - was never high enough within the watch community so the product line has been finally discontinued and substituted in the recent years with the Montblanc 1858 product line (which is not purely produced in Villeret). No new orders will be taken and the small stock is currently being sold. To me this sounds like a good value perspective but in the end it's always a crystal ball....

I have ordered a custom strap in matte black alligator with red stitching to match the dial smile

Loves that deep black enamel dial and the beautiful 16.29! Like what many said, this is the complete package. These MB Minerva chronographs are beautiful creations at tremendous value for money prices!

Can u share what collection this watch is under? Do u mean they don't really release this for sale now, rather, they sell small numbers to their select customers?

This particular model is part of the Montblanc Villeret 1858 Collection

I believe previous pieces in this collection are released in the number of 1, 8 or 58 pieces which is a tribute to the year Minerva was found. This particular model I think was released way back in 2010 so this is a NOS which was not sold by the boutique ...

The product line was called Montblanc Collection Villeret. No more watches from this collection are being built - neither new nor old models. You can get only NOS which was produced but not sold. Several product groups within this collection were only bui...

Value

You are absolutely right - in the beginning I started collecting ALS and Rolex but since you see them nearly everywhere (at least Rolex) I stowed them away to wear other brands. The joy and personal value for me is definitely higher with not so common bra...
