The trip sounds interesting although there isn't a ton of detail on that (flight class, hotel, meals). Is this really a trip with a nice souvenir watch included?

unless you're comparing with all other possible watches for that price - then it is apples vs oranges...

My main criticism of the 1858 Tachy Bleu with cal 16.29 is the diameter of the piece. For me, having “evolved” my tastes to vintage size proportions, 42mm is too big for me. This H edition hits the right size at 40mm and 12mm something in thickness. And w... 

i think 42 made sense for cal 16,29 i'm very much like you, i prefer 40mm or less but i felt the 42mm case sat well on the wrist when i tried out. i feel the blue dial was 'more' lively than the black but probably that is just me...

The only difference being the color of the dial and the hands... Which is not enough for me... ...  

The movement is of course superb.

Movement is nice, of course. Seems very stealthy. Hands are a bit boring. Dislike monopushers in general, as I prefer the ability to start/stop/start again the chrono function without reset. $30K is too expensive IMO, whether limited edition or not. I cou...

As I stated before I would really have preferred that they kept the Minerva name for the watches while Mont Blanc was reserved for the pens and leather goods. The dial and hands are IMHO much cleaner and easier on the eyes than the regular production mode...

why are there so many people here who hate this watch? Aren't the non-limited edition watch around this price or even more expensive? If so, why will people consider this over price when it even comes with a trip> Am I missing out something?

I don’t think people hate it. It’s just hard to get enthusiastic with the product at that price point. Why it’s considered expensive is simple. Just think about what you can do with 30 grand. Although value, price...I gotta say it’s relative and differs f...

I think it is a good buy. But I agree with Amanico that one might as well go with the green version, which is cooler..

Conceptually, it's a bit bananas. Take one of the finest chronograph movements in the world and turn it into a knockabout watch. Throw it on an appropriate strap, get the seals checked every year and you can theoretically wear this watch while cannonballi...

Probably close to actual production costs, too. Add in some big name "brand ambassadors" though and the price will likely double.

I quite like it. The size is better for my wrist (selfish reason, I know) and I really prefer he black dial to the green one. The 100m WR is quite helpful, too - not that I would necessarily swim with it but at least you would not get nervous getting caug...

But also understand why they did it - without it would look practically indistinguishable from the one with the ETA movement - which some might see as a feature but many would consider a big flaw (I am sure you remember the discussions on this topic from ... 

And I agree - there's a lot to like here! Hope you will enjoy yours for many years to come

It depends on your collection, if you’re looking for a versatile watch I wouldn’t count on this.
