Can't stop thinking about the Mont Blanc LE Heritage Pulsograph

Have been researching more into the LE Minerva Villeret models

Pros
Haute horology-monopusher chronograph hand built
Beautiful design
Small numbers so none really on secondary market
Good value

Cons
Quality issues, two members have had their watches go back for repair, a 1% fail rate for each LE run
Brand value-MB doesn’t distinguish these Minerva derivatives as different, they’ve similar models with Sellita movements for 1/5 of the price
The website/brochures don’t really give the LE Minervas great prominence as their halo product, the name only appears on the movement

So it’s difficult to decide on spending such a large sum on a ‘new’ watch brand with a very niche haute horology division that’s not given its own distinct branding?

Mercedes vs Mercedes AMG? Just my thoughts about buying -that Pulsograph is so gorgeous, now if it was in WG as well.......!

The large sum is very relative. For this amount of money you will not find something equivalent in terms of finishings and refinement.

I would prefer email black dial with applied Breguet indexes. :)

Combination of salmon dial with blue small numerals does not sing to me. But, the movement is wow...

I too was enticed by this watch

having tried it on a month ago in Kuala Lumpur. For me another pro would be that it is in stainless steel but that is personal. The cons though that have stopped me from pulling the trigger include the fact that this watch is so much thicker than say the ...

It is good enough to be considered against PP’s 5170 as you did for an emerging brand-a tough one

I understand your sleeplessness! Ever since this hit the market I've had similar dreams.

But aside from your quality concerns (which I'd read nothing about, so… very interesting) the thing for me is 40mm. This fights mightily with the watch's "heritage," and this tension would have me spending my shekels elsewhere. (And it's a lot of them!) T...

I would give this watch a 2nd or 3rd glance

Even if it had no brand on it. It is a monopusher and a pulsometer, and it has a nice coppery dial. They say in life, when faced with hard decisions, we flip a coin. "The answer will come even before the coin lands." I like MB as they have a consistent hi...

Excellent photographs and an equally fine assessment

I like this watch but for the reasons you mention have held back.
