My Greytech is back from the dead

$1,200 later and it’s working like a champ. Apparently the mainspring broke. Not sure exactly how as I’m extremely careful with my watches. Nonetheless, I’m glad my local mom and pop jeweler was able to get a mainspring from Montblanc and fox it locally so I did not have to deal with the customer service department in Dallas.

Mainspring broke and $1200 necessitated repairs?

Yes I was definitely surprised with the $1,200 quote. The mainspring was $300 bucks. The rest was labor I imagine. He said that he did maintenance and cleaning on the movement since he was going to be in there already fixing the mainspring. Fingers crosse...

Glad it’s back with you again...
