Probably due to the chatons needing extra thickness (taken up by rotor here). And to offset the cost of the Pt peripheral weight. Regards, skyeriding [nt]

The rotor is also gold plated

and not solid gold, due to the rotor design to allow a better view of the movement.

From what I read the rotor is gold plated to enhance the Mechanics and cut down on the sheer force Causing undue stretching of the rotor [nt]
