Contemplating a 36mm 5800 (pre-Swatch) on a bracelet

It has a JLC 889 inside, I'm interested in the yellow gold case and bracelet. Dial versions include this yellow guilloche, a more usual silver guilloche, and a rare mother of pearl dial. What do you think about this yellow version?

As it is in yellow gold I think this size might work, but shouldn’t be smaller

Still never even tried on a full gold watch. But this one breaths Breguet for me, so why not? Br, Dirk

I try them on! But, yes, it's way too much for me, my watches tend to live under a cuff.

I thought a 36mm watch could work with the bracelet. Still thinking about it!

This was the first Breguet that caught my eye, back in the early 90s.

I think I like it in WG better, but the yellow is rich and beautiful. This design was by the Chaumet Brothers when they owned Breguet and resurrected it as a matchmaking concern. Prior, Breguet merely serviced their historic pieces and now and then had a ...

I'm a fan of Daniel Roth's Breguet designs, too.

William Ruhr (Messina) has said that Breguet has never been out of production in its history, so perhaps at least something was always serially made, even if it might have been a small output.

And you should definitely get it.

It is a jewel! I would never dare to wear something like that but I do admire the craftsmanship. The sheen of this older gold is magical. You can easily imagine the low amount of such pieces produced every year back in the days.

Lovely! [nt]

I love all these timeless classics! The yellow gold makes the smaller size wear a ok. 😉

Yeah, I tried on one in pt a year or two ago and didn't look back.

It can appear a bit dated, is one concern.

Which one is that? [nt]
