The Hour Glass and Hublot pledge support for charity with Make A Wish Foundation
Singapore, 7 August 2008 – The Hour Glass and Hublot SA have joined hands in the name of charity, launching “Project F Bang”, an original collaboration between the Swiss luxury watch brand, its exclusive retailer and local charity organization, Make A Wish Foundation.
The Hour Glass, the exclusive distributor of Hublot timepieces in Singapore and Malaysia, has committed to support the projects of the Foundation, whose objective is to help grant the wishes of children with life threatening illnesses, with the noble cause of bringing them some joy, hope and strength during the difficult periods of their lives.
Mr Michael Tay, Executive Director of The Hour Glass says, “When I first heard about Make A Wish Foundation, I was immediately caught with the beauty of it – of granting the wishes of ill children. The concept is so simple yet magical, not to mention original, much like Hublot. Hublot has always been an advocate of social messages, with its various charity projects around the world, for instance, the Ayrton Senna watch, named after the Foundation that the late F1 driver created to bring education to deprived children from the slums of Brazil. The launch of Hublot’s “Project F Bang”, which is also dedicated to Singapore’s first F1 race, provided a perfect opportunity to marry a social message and to mark a momentuous occasion”. The Hour Glass is pledging to Make A Wish Foundation, 5% of the retail price of every F-Bang watch sold through its boutiques in Singapore and Malaysia.
“Project F Bang” is the world’s first Split Second-Hand Chronograph with a left hand crown and pushers. Targeted to be launched during the inaugural Singapore F1 Race, the watch will be produced in a limited quantity of 100 pieces. The watch features the famous 44.5mm Big Bang All Black case with red kevlar on the side of the case and oreille. The all black dial will have the 12 o’clock hour indicated in red with the split-second hand alternating in red and white, the Singapore national colours. Both the pushers and crown are in black with red kevlar inserts.
