Price of servicing tourbillons

Jun 25, 2024,19:50 PM

Dear all, tell me please whether in the recent past you've serviced watches with tourbillons and what was the price of the service?

Omega is now requesting EUR 5500 for such a service from me and I am trying to understand whether such a hefty price is considered normal industry practice these days. Sounds very aggressive to me... Thx.

That is what I paid

I paid $4750 for servicing my central tourbillon in 2021. It is expensive, but is inline with what other companies are charging. A factor in the high price is the fact that Omega tourbillons are very complicated with their radial gearing and sapphire disk...

Sounds ridiculous cause I believe breguet …

Breguet which is a zillion steps above Omega charges 3250 euro for servicing a tourbillon

Imho Omega's tourbillions

Are not below Breguet's tourbillions, but I also think that 3k EUR is much more reasonable than 5.5k for such a job

In fact

I love the Breguet Tourbillon, specially the 3357, but I would never exchange my Omega Tourbillon for a Breguet (except an original pocket tourbillon of course). The Omega Tourbillon is IMVHO above many tourbillons in terms of originality, rarity and what...

Thanks Dje

Indeed it is a very special watch and I absolutely love it as well. Wear yours in a good health!

...that's gone from $8 to $14 in the past 3 years. That's what's depressing. I never feel sorry for rich people : )

The premiums that manufacturing concerns, and restaurants at all levels charge exceed any other line of business that I'm familiar with. I frequently pay $30-40 for a simple casual diner meal. If I go for something moderately upscale that'll be $100-150 f...

True - it also depends on the watch I guess

If you paid the retail for original Royal Oak in 1972 for £2,850 which is about $3,614 USD and add on 15k usd for servicing multiple times That’s like 19k, which I think would be a lot less than what you could turn around and sell that watch for these day...

ate up the original tires at about 3-4,000 miles a set even though it weighs just 2500 lbs. When all the US inventory of the original OEM Goodyears were used up, I switched tires by necessity and also stopped driving like a maniac... now they last much lo...

for its most complicated watches is fixed at 2450 EUR, assuming nothing is broken and doesn't require replacement

You get what you pay for

IWC service is atrocious, in particularly for vintage and complicated watches. In my experience Cartier service is excellent, both in terms of price and overall experience. Servicing my monopusher cost me just over $700 and they advised not to polish and ...

A lot of brands have increased prices of service quite a bit. Lange is out of control expensive for example. AP, Breguet, and a few others seem more reasonable. It's why I am now sticking to mostly only simple time only...
