Question on self moving Chrono hand LUC 1963 Chrono Purist Ed

Apr 08, 2017,20:19 PM

Hi Guys,

I noticed my watch's chrono hand has the tendency to move by itself a few times a day. At first I thought I accidently pressed the chron start and stop pushers coz they protrude so out.

The red chrono hand seems to follow the minute hand lead and then would always stop at the 11 min. Is this a major repair job? I juz bought this like a month ago.

This is real strange to me and I was wondering if anyone has the same experience or can advise me on my next step?

starts crawling with the min hand

chrono hand stops at 11 min

Chopard are generally very fast and good with their repairs - none of mine too longer than a month and often it got sorted in two weeks or so.

Not a major adjustment if your region has a Chopard technical centre

beerstyle, That requres an adjustment of maybe the central hands' pivot. At Chopard Technical Centres, it can be turned around in 14 working days. As I don't live in Asia anymore, I don't know if you have a Technical Service Centre near you. Chopard insti...

I suspect that is irritating but at least you can still wear the watch for the main hours and minutes. I am in the middle of have a broken Minerva caliber 16.29 fixed, and I know it is no fun to see your watch not functioning correctly. By all accounts, e...

not fun at all, I'm sure we all expect top standard, say from Lange, Villeret, and LUC for example.

I thought I better send it in the service centre asap coz it defeats the purpose wearing a chrono watch to juz see the min and hr hand hahahaha

Full agreement. Chopard needs to make the entire watch function correctly.

Did you buy the watch brand new? That is part of my surprise with my Montblanc watch. It worked fine over 8 months when worn, then all of a sudden is dead. Sounds like yours worked OK when you first received it.

So it would seem Chopard shipped it with the issue.

Maybe it slipped through QC or was not tested enough. It is hard to imagine the damage was a result of shipment, if the rest of the watch is OK. I wish you a speedy service with Chopard, as I mentioned I hear they are very good.
