Overseas... over snow
Hi all,
First 2017 snow here in Geneva... at last!!! May be a divine sign before the beginning of the SIHH next week ;-)
I took a shot "à la" Blomman/KMII style of my VC Overseas. May be a new shot category for the beginning of this year

Yes Raymond first snow. Just to give you an idea, December 2016 was the driest December month in Switzerland over the last 150 years (only 2mm of rain on average). Just incredible!
I hope you won\'t have any problem for your coming. About temperatures, don\'t worry that\'s not too cold (around zero Celsius degree). Best wishes Alkiro
Thanks Alkiro. I just saw some news about snow avalanche that killed 2 and 50 car piled up in A3....kind of scary.
0C is ok, I can handle that as long as its not windy. We had windy situations and freezing rain that makes it very treacherous. I will be super careful. Stay warm and drive safe. Thank you.
Freezing rain is very tricky and dangerous. I'm not really worry about snow if you drive carefully and if you are well-equipped (4WD and snow tires are almost mandatory here)

Even on this subtropical island, snow is common on moutains of 2000m up.
For city dwellers like me, it's nearly impossible to see snow, though we did have some in January 2016, which made quite a news.

But, now you get snow? I was 'skiing' in that area for 10 days, spent my days watching cows graze. The two runs that were open, I had to take 15 minute drive, 2 gondola rides and cross the border. And now it is snowing. At least you get to enjoy it.
Many thanks my friend. You only found snow in France (Les Gets) if I'm right. And I suppose that you had to climb a lot (above 2000m) to find good quality snow no?
I suppose it was a nightmare for ski resorts and people who work there during Christmas. No enough snow, no customers, no work and no profits :-( I hope snow height will be sufficient to go sledging with my son this weekend (in the Jura at 1400m). Not sur...
