Ulysse Nardin Classic Perpetual Calendar " Ludwig ". One live picture, taken at the SIHH, this year.

Compared to the original, the case is bigger, differently shaped, but the spirit is the same.

Serious, efficient, legible, and... Friendly, since this is the only perpetual calendar you can set forward and backward through the crown.

Another good news: It is available in steel! So expect a more affordable price.

One of the great offers from this year.

Best,

Nicolas

Really want to see one in person, not sure where in London but possible on the continent. Subtle looks belying what's working away inside. Classy

AFAIK, no. [nt]

I think the 150th anniversary edition was 36mm.

I think over time this issue would subside

The bigger day date window being most peoples primary concern, although totally unrelated aesthetically you read a lot about HYT or Urwerk watches beings intuitive after a short period of time, I think this is the case here. I actually prefer the larger s...

At least, the year is quite well balanced. That is the only problem of the JLC Perpetual Calendar.

No, the real question, on these U.N perpetual calendars is the lack of moon phase. Good or bad?

I think lack of moon phase helps with the simplicity. As for balance, yes, the year aperture is balanced. But if we talk of balance, then what of the date window?

As for the JLC, regardless of year, it remains beautiful, esp with black dial in ss. Maybe symmetry is not always the best - sometimes lack thereof contributes to visual interest. The real question becomes when is it good, and when is it not, ha ha!
