I usually hang on the GP & meandering forums here - and have spotted for sale a rather nice high beat UN from the 70's - is there anyone knowledgeable about vintage UN I can have a PM conversation with please & before I pull the trigger? Many thanks in anticipation. Cheers, Giles.

should the 36000 COSC in a 'C' shaped case (similar to Omega Cosmic / GP HF cases) have a UN name & anchor symbol on the case back? It is stamed UN on inside of case. Other round case models do. Many thanks. G.

UN-modified ETA 2826 movements were stamped "NB 11 QU", like on this example. Marcus ...

Yes, just like that. Thanks Marcus

Cheers. Giles

According to UN, around 1,000 movements were used under this designation in the 70s

However, the ETA 2826 with 36,000 A/h was produced in much larger numbers. I do not know exactly which modification were made by UN. Marcus

Thanks again Marcus.

I've seen some 36000 UNs without COSC so guess these where the larger productions. The ranfft web site also confirms the NB11QU was limited to 1000 pieces in 1974. Cheers. G.
