Totally against socks with sandals too, but
one must admit for his excuse (the guy on the top picture) that the tan might come from football shoes with socks or something like that! Maybe he's "innocent"! 😄 Best, HGL

I might also add - he could be a golfer....
As a golfer myself, when I wear shorts, I below ankle/hidden socks, so just the feet miss out on the tan. Unfortunately some clubs have rules that you have to have socks that cover the ankles as well, would could explain the above tan line. In those cases...
