Trying out a new macro lens -- thought people might enjoy a few pics of some of the favored members of my collection. As you can see, I'm still getting the hang of it!

... try shooting some real macro shots, closeups of the dials and movements. Those dials are great and a macro lens can really get in there close.

Thanks for these pics. CL..you do have a liking for the classics! Great focus on theme and very coherent. These watches belong together and form a very related family...look good in a wooden box, all in a row.

but I have to ask .... why does the Journe dial have blemish marks on it? It looks like what one would see on a well-preserved vintage watch dial.

I also noticed what appears to be some slight discoloration on the white subdials -- for instance on the minutes dial at about 15 or so... and on the seconds dial at about 5:30.

This illustrates the considerations of extreme magnification

as much as it does the presence of dust. I have taken a crop of my full-size version of the picture above, and its scale is approximately 100 pixels/millimeter (355 pixels across, about 3.5mm in real life). If your screen has a resolution of 96 pixels/inc...

just was wondering if this also was apparent at 10x magnification with standard loupe. Your photos are amazing, as is this particular watch. Quite frankly, for a boutique brand I would not be surprised to see more minor imperfections evident of the extra ...
